Lake Amherst, Plymouth, Vermont. Built in 1934 , this quintessential cozy year-round cottage has rustic charm with campy knotty pine paneling, antique furniture and upscale modern amenities. The cottage is set up for plenty of 'get away' privacy. Cottage is adjacent to Hawk Mountain Resort, near recreation areas, boat rentals, horseback riding, hiking, pond and lake swimming.
Living room- Large brick fireplace. French doors open from the living room to a spacious screened-in porch over-looking the lake. Stereo system with cassette player, CD, and radio. i-pod docking station.
Kitchen- Galley style with granite and butcher block counter tops, pantry off the kitchen, fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, oven, stove, fridge, coffee makers, coffee grinder, toaster oven, toaster, blender, mixer, crock pot, wine refrigerator, antique and modern dishes, table cloths and napkins. Gas and charcoal grills located outside.
Bedrooms-Three large bedrooms with 2 double beds in each room are all made up and ready to use. Each bedroom has satellite television and VCR/DVD players, library of videos & DVDs. Two bedrooms share a bathroom, master bedroom has private bathroom. A 3rd bathroom is off the living area. Bathrooms outfitted with towels and upscale amenities. Bathrooms are ceramic/stone tiled.
Boats- Cottage comes with a private beach area, a canoe, two kayaks, & a floating dock. A hammock is hung between trees on the beach area. Boat rentals from Hawk Mountain Resort available at the 'other' end of the semi-circle driveway; renting a variety of boats.
Other Amenities- Washer/dryer, puzzles, games, toys, water floats, sprinkler, volleyball court, badminton. Large flat grass lawn in the back.
Location- Off Vermont Route 100, Plymouth, Vt. Located 15 minutes to Killington, 15 minutes to Okemo/Ludlow, 40 minutes to Bromley, 40 minutes to Stratton, and 20 minutes to the Woodstock area. Shopping, antiquing, craft fairs, most within 30 minutes. This is an historic area of the Revolutionary War - General Jeffrey Amherst, Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys marched along these dirt roads and camped at the head of Lake Amherst. The Lake is named after General Jeffrey Amherst.
